Expectations
I am delighted to be taking ITD 755, Web Development and Assessment this semester. I have created and managed dozens of different websites and am looking forward to learning some new design principles, tools for assessment and best practice techniques from this class.
I am particularly excited to learn how to use a website as means of online course instruction and to be able to implement that into the short courses that our department is currently building to go live this fall. Although I am familiar with web design, I am not so familiar with the development, implementation and evaluation of web-based education. These skills will be vital in conducting our online short courses.
In doing research for ITD 755, I have already found and used several wonderful assessment tools and was intrigued by the results and excited to implement the improvements needed to optimize our websites. These tools are listed on the resources page.
